Health & Physical Education

Health and Physical Education is an important subject, but one that is often brushed to the side in favour of traditional subjects such as maths, English, science and humanities. R.I.C. Publications has a range of educational resources that will bring the interest and excitement of learning about health and physical education back to the subject. Our products include teacher resources, blackline masters and posters to assist teachers in these areas.

These products are cover a range of different topics: from motor skills and games that promote physical health, to lifestyle choices and self-esteem that cover mental health. We also have books and posters that cover bullying and conflict resolution—topics that affect students across many year levels. These resources aim to promote awareness of what bullying is and how to deal with it appropriately.

We also have Bullying in a cyber world: a very timely release aimed to inform students of how bullying is not just face-to-face or restricted to the school environment. There are supporting posters to go along with this resource.

If you are interested in teaching health and physical education at a more efficient rate and effective level, then R.I.C. is here to help! With our help, you can aid your students in their advancement of health knowledge. Our health education resources are packed full of information, broken down to be digestible for young minds.

Our health education resources contain many product types that can become lesson plans, but also contain dedicated lessons plans! For instance, Bullying in a cyber world can provide multiple lesson plan ideas, while our specific lesson plans and digital units, such as Being healthy, safe and active – Year 6 digital unit can teach students key units from the Australian Curriculum and more.

The Year 6 lesson plan linked above includes 49 pages from the Australian Curriculum Health series, covering the following content descriptions from the Personal, social and community health strand:

● Examine how identities are influenced by people and places (ACPPS051)

● Investigate resources and strategies to manage changes and transitions associated with puberty (ACPPS052)

● Investigate community resources and ways to seek help about health, safety and wellbeing (ACPPS053)

● Plan and practise strategies to promote health, safety and wellbeing (ACPPS054)
