Celebrate NAIDOC Week 2021 – Heal Country!

NAIDOC Week 2021 begins on 4 July, running through to 11 July. This year's theme is 'Heal Country!', which calls for Australia to seek greater protections for our lands, our waters, our sacred sites and our cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration and destruction.

This year, we've put together a free resource pack to celebrate this important week. This pack is particularly special as all of the resources contain artwork by Carliegh Walsh, a talented artist from Wodonga Senior Secondary College.

The free pack includes:

Two Heal Country! posters by Carliegh Walsh

NAIDOC Week classroom buntings

NAIDOC Week colour-in bookmarks

Here's what Carliegh had to say about her NAIDOC Week poster:

I have drawn dragonfly around at night with the stars and moon out. They are flying in a circle up in the air above Uluru. There are different butterfly flying around looking for somewhere to land on Uluru, after a big day flying around.

Carliegh Walsh

Carliegh is a talented artist who made headlines when a Canadian school purchased her Aboriginal-themed preschool memory cards. Now in Year 12, Carliegh is passionate about Aboriginal art, building and maintaining a successful business, working with children and her family and friends. On top of operating a successful business selling her art at markets on the weekend, Carliegh is also working hard to complete her studies in child services.

Carliegh wants everyone who uses this pack to learn as much as they can about what NAIDOC Week stands for, with a great starting place being the official NAIDOC website.
